The Patent & Design Rules, 1933 (as amended up to 15th June, 1946) governs and deals with the mechanism of registration and protection of Industrial Designs in Bangladesh.

The types of Industrial Design Applications in Bangladesh are as follows:

• Non-Convention Application
• Convention Application

The Registration Term of the Industrial Design in Bangladesh is 15 years from the Date of Application, with the first renewal due at the end of the 5th year and the second renewal at the end of the 10th year.

The Effective Date of Registration of the Industrial Design is the Priority Date.

In Bangladesh, the Time Frame for Examination from the Date of Application is 6 months approximately.

An Opposition against the Industrial Design Application can’t be raised in Bangladesh.
