In Sri Lanka, the types of the Trademark protected can be categorized as follows:
The 10th edition of Nice Classification is accepted by the Trademark office.
The Opposition Period for the trademark is three months from the Date of Publication of the Trademark in the Official Gazette.
Upon registration, the Trademark Protection is available for ten years from the Date of Application in Sri Lanka, renewable every ten years on payment of the required fee.
The Grace Period for Trademark Renewal is six months, and the Non-Use Cancellation Period is five years from the Date of Registration.
